Nonemergency nonresponse

Before I even tried to call the nonemergency line for Modesto Police, a friend told me, "You'll never get through!" I tried anyway because I wanted to report an abomination, people using and destroying tennis courts to play baseball. I called the phone number in the directory and got a recording. The recording gives a bunch of other numbers, and they're talking so fast you feel sick.

I had the patience to call three numbers to get a dispatcher (who did not work for police). I left the message about the tennis court problem and told her I would write a letter to the editor about this problem with communication with the police department. Now. I've wasted this letter instead of writing about something really important!
