I read with interest your article about the $100,000 salaries ("$100K club grows," March 24) and found it lacking all of the facts. Have your reporters looked into minimum staffing levels that are designed for officer protection? Remember, the police and fire have been cut by more than 20 percent.
More disturbing was the fact that you ran this story on the front page as an apparent jab at the protectors of our community, while real news, a 14-month-old baby in Georgia being shot in the face and killed and his mother also being shot because she didn't have any money to give to the two killers — where is the outrage to this type of act? Where is Jesse Jackson? Where is Al Sharpton? Better yet, where is the Florida congresswoman in the pink cowboy hat demanding justice?
