How many times have we heard people say "guns don't kill people, people do." Yes, this statement is true, but if the guns hadn't been there in the first place, or most importantly, locked away safely, perhaps 20 helpless children and six adults more than likely would be alive today.
We are all wise enough to know that there is evil in our world. I believe we need to make it as hard as we can to try and stop these senseless killings. Assault weapons belong only in the hands of the police, sheriff and military.
My heart is heavy and sad for those parents who lost their precious little angels and to the families of the six adults, my sincere condolences also. May all the families of this tragedy find some peace and comfort in knowing there are so many people who are hurting for them, and please know you are not alone.
Never miss a local story.
