Obama's valley visit was blatant pandering for votes

We only warrant a visit when Obama, in a blatant attempt to pander for votes, decides to grace us with his presence to dedicate a monument honoring Chávez.

I would like to preface my comments by saying that this letter is not meant to diminish the accomplishments nor the legacy of César Chávez.

However, I find it rather telling that in the four years of his presidency (and even during his 2008 campaign), President Obama did not find it necessary to visit or acknowledge the Central Valley, a valley that encompasses one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and the majority of the top 10 cities for home foreclosures.

We only warrant a visit when Obama, in a blatant attempt to pander for votes, decides to grace us with his presence to dedicate a monument honoring Chávez. Is our Hispanic community really that gullible and are their votes that easily won? I would hope not.
