Be mindful of what you say

October is Anti-Bullying month. Our children learn by example so stopping of this outrageously hurtful crime — yes, crime — needs to start with us as parents.
Our children's hearts and minds are open slates for us to write on, so we need to stop and think about what we are about to say about or to anyone that our children or anyone listening might take to be degrading to the other person.
Too many times when asked why we said something the response is, "But I heard so-and-so say it," or worse, when it is our children say, "But you say it."
Please remember what you say can deeply hurt now and for ever.
