I'm 57, unemployed, husband of 37 years disabled — heart condition. Our only income is disability once a month. Been juggling bills to make sure everyone gets paid.
Shut-off notices get paid first. I call and make arrangements for payments on the 3rd.
We've never had a shut-off in the 20 years we've had service. On Sept. 13 the utilities companies would not wait an extra 10 days to get payment in full.
I remember when your word meant something and you were a person, not an account number. Not anymore. I'm so discouraged and I know I'm not alone. We're struggling, not dead beats.
