Strange! After almost four years as attorney general and two previous terms as governor, Jerry Brown has finally taken a positive step to implement the death penalty. Years ago he was vocal in his opposition and gave us Rose Bird as his method to prevent the will of the voters. If he opposed it, he could have been up front and moved legislation. Instead, he used Bird to prevent executions. As attorney general, he sat on his hands while other states were able to resume executions. Now, with a close vote, he is ready to move a person to their just due. Politics? You bet. He will do anything to win. With 700 people sitting on death row, California deserves better. Please do not vote for Brown.
