Once again, The Bee has embarrassed itself in its stance on a state proposition. Their piece was littered with fallacies and misinformation in regards to Proposition 19 and its consequences.
For one, passage of Proposition 19 would not be in conflict with federal law, because the 10th Amendment allows the state to control all laws concerning intrastate commerce. Also, the black market and cartels would cease in regards to the cannabis trade; why would state residents want to go out of their way to deal with shady and dangerous drug dealers when they could very easily and legally grow all the cannabis they'd ever need?
And The Bee failed to mention that overdosing on cannabis is impossible; one could smoke four pounds if they so desired and the only ill effect would be the need for a nap.
Research for yourself and see what a blessing Proposition 19 will be for this state.
