Regarding "McCain chomps at bit to make wars"
(May 14, Letters): This writer espouses hatred against one our country's great heroes, John McCain. He defiles this man of courage and honor who endured horrific beatings, was made to stand in a hole for years rather than betray his country and fellow prisoners of war.
As the mother of a Vietnam veteran, I stood at the black wall in Washington, D.C., alongside men mourning the loss of their fallen brothers. The treatment endured by these men who came home from a war not of their choosing was shameful.
If words are stronger than the sword, surely this country will fall by such, by descendants who have no respect for our leaders or the Constitution. McCain's service record in war and the Senate far outweigh all others in qualifying him to be our next president.
