To mock George Bush for his "Mission Accomplished" statement ("Admit it, Bush: Mission not accomplished," May 7, Letters) is daft. It's been 18 months since the Democrats took over Congress and the only mission they've accomplished is to mold the cushion of their chairs. We now have two botched politicians trying to certify their existence by creating missions that don't exist.
Oh, global warming does exist. But the mission is one of factual geologic processes, not imagined human causes and outcomes that we can determine by behavior. It seems God beat Al Gore to the draw. Jimmy Carter, who failed to get the hostages out of Iran, now tries to get his "Mission Accomplished" by giving comfort to Israel-hating Hamas. But someone beat him to the draw, too: Adolph Hitler.
