On April 25, I took part in a peaceful demonstration outside Jeff Denham's Modesto office on Eighth Street. We are completely dissatisfied with Denham's actions as our state senator and have the right to protest in support of our opinion.
Throughout our protest, which went from about 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., we maintained our composure and were respectful to those attending Denham's party. It's a shame that Denham's supporters did not behave in a similar manner.
Four individual from the Denham camp, namely campaign manager John Franklin, found it necessary to repeatedly insult, taunt and provoke members of our protest team. Some of the insults were racial slurs. If Denham can't even prevent his campaigners from verbally abusing a dozen of his constituents, what does this say about Denham's ability to represent the whole district?
