Regarding the letter "Tired of Mexican flag? Fly ours" (May 8), I find it interesting that the writer would suggest that we go to the dollar store and buy an American flag to fly on our cars. A very large percentage of the goods at such stores are made in China, so I fail to see the patriotism in buying a cheap flag there. Wouldn't it put our precious dollars to a more patriotic use by supporting American businesses? I do not feel the need to display the Stars and Stripes to show my patriotism. I am not offended by others showing their patriotism toward their native countries. That's part of the beauty of living in the United States: We get to express ourselves and show pride in our heritage.
