Well, the government is giving us a $40 coupon so we can buy a converter box to receive digital TV signals ("TV shows don't fit set with converter," April 24, Page D-1). This is another example of government help going in the wrong direction. Instead of $40 toward a converter box, give out a coupon toward the purchase of a new television and for recycling the old set. We can stimulate the economy, protect the environment and reduce energy consumption all in one move. Plus, we won't have to worry about changing our picture size every time we change channels.
