Since the announcement on April 30 about the Hershey Oakdale plant closing, I've read many letters expressing anger over the company's decision to close the facility. To the people who say that they will never buy another Hershey candy, I ask them: Why just Hershey?
What about the many other companies that have left the United States to do business in other countries? Do an inventory of all your household items, including cars and clothes, and get rid of everything not made in America. Employees, governments and unions should assess their attitudes and work ethics, and it won't be hard to figure out why companies are leaving the country.
For 43-plus years Hershey was a great company for its employees and the community; for that we should be thankful. Boycotting Hershey products will only result in the loss of more jobs for Americans.
