If one believes that the recall of Gov. Davis was wrong, then recalling state Sen. Jeff Denham is ill-advised. Politics aside, his record should receive full consideration by voters in his district.
Did Denham cause damage last year to his constituents in delaying passage of the state budget by a month? How much money has Denham brought into the district during his term? Are we receiving our fair share? If yes, then why do we need a half-cent sales tax increase to fix roads? And why does Modesto need another half-cent sales tax increase to replace money taken by state government?
Did Denham elevate partisan politics and oppose the efforts of his own party's governor? What accomplishments can he claim?
Rather than play the role of victim, now is a great opportunity for Denham to clarify his record.
