I am sick and tired of reading letters directed at school boards. As a school facilities manager, it surely is not my fault, the custodians' fault or the board's fault for the state of the district's budget.
Our governor claimed to be an advocate for education. Boy, was I blinded. Do we hear of any cuts taking place at the legislative level, i.e. reducing their expense accounts, state vehicles, cell phones? No!
This kind of behavior will stop only when we, the taxpayers, school administration, California School Employees Association and teachers unions, correctional officers and police stand together on the capital steps and scream.
Two things to remember in the future:
Never miss a local story.
1. Who are we really voting for, and
2. Let's not blame our school boards for things beyond their control
