State legislation (Assembly Bill 2566 by Assemblywoman Loni Hancock) will authorize a city council to regulate the possession of handguns, including those within a private residence or business. This will create a patchwork of handgun laws throughout California. Some cities may ban all possession while others allow possession only in a residence or business, require all residents to possess a handgun, etc. The scenarios are endless. This is not a good proposal. If you agree, please contact your state Assembly person and senator. This bill is scheduled for a committee hearing on March 25.
