I recently found a young soccer player using my front yard garden hose to rinse off his head. I thought he might have been overheated -- but no, he had "dog poop" in his hair and was trying to get it out.
I live on the border of one of our beautiful city parks and have noticed increasing activity with the nicer weather. Teams practicing soccer and baseball, moms with infants in strollers, and folks like me using the measured distance around the park like a track for exercise. Many of the folks have their dogs with them and both are enjoying the time outside. Unfortunately, more times than not I see people leave their animals' waste there in the park where children, like the young soccer player in my yard, come in contact with it.
Please, Modesto, save plastic produce bags to take with you when you walk the dog and then dispose of the droppings in a trash can. Keep our parks clean for our children.
