It is a shame that Bill and Joy Bloomingcamp are being denied the right to use their property for outdoor weddings. They have been huge contributors to the community for several years, especially to children's groups. Many people, including myself, take our children and grandchildren to enjoy this beautiful outdoor setting free of charge. I have recently been to several Board of Supervisors meetings and watched these stone-faced gentlemen turn a deaf ear to the outdoor wedding venues. They only express negative comments. One wedding venue owner is not in the Williamson Act and her property had a previous commercial special permit. I have seen her harassed many times by the county. At times, when sympathetic county employees have offered to help, they have been discouraged by county counsel. Some of the supervisors have held fund-raisers at Bloomingcamp and other agriculture premises, but can only hear the complaint of one code enforcement employee, who has code violations on his own property but knows who to complain to.
