A letter ("Reasons why abortion may be needed," Oct. 22) attacked the "Anti-Abortion-R-Us crowd" and cited two examples justifying abortion. The writer cites two cases and claims they "are more prevalent than not." He should have statistics to prove his claim.
I wonder if he also approves of partial-birth abortion? Partial- birth abortions are worthy of the diabolical torturers at Dachau or Auschwitz. The baby is partially delivered, then a needle is inserted at the base of the neck, the brain is extracted, the head collapses and a dead baby is delivered. Would that bring succor to the traumatized 12-year-old, or would a generous act of giving up a child to a loving family bring more peace to the child? The psychological scars of abortion last a lifetime.
I could be pro-choice except for my belief in doing God's will and the one sticky detail that at least one person dies when a pregnant female enters an abortion clinic.
