Almost daily for the past week, I have found articles in The Bee detailing the failures or upcoming failures of national health care, i.e., advanced socialism. Democrats tout England's socialized medicine as their goal for the United States. Yet I read ("Some pulling own teeth in care shortage," Oct. 17, Page A-11) about people in London pulling their own teeth or re-applying crowns with Super Glue. According to a spokesman, "The picture it paints, of patients unable to access care ... is an all too familiar one."
One also reads about the Stanislaus County clinics having severe money problems, yet the private hospitals in Modesto are expanding and serving the community. The baby boomers are starting to cause a drain on Social Security and with less than half of the employable private sector contributing, politicians are looking at ways of deferring benefits and increasing taxation for the program. It is ironic that politicians who dictate Social Security are not in the program, but in their own separate federal retirement program.
Socialism never has worked, and politicians striving to control our freedoms and liberties are simply leading America for failure. People need to wake up and vote intelligently before all their freedoms are controlled by others.
