I am writing in support of the re-election of Frank Clark to the Oakdale Irrigation District Board of Directors. During the past six years, OID, with Frank's participation, has accomplished the following: Paid off all long-term debt; increased its cash reserve from $4 million to more than $30 million, increased income from electricity from $4 million to more than $18 million; made $18 million in infrastructure repairs; reduced irrigation water rates to the lowest in the state; annexed additional farmland; and set aside 25,000 acre-feet of water for Oakdale's future use.
I have served with Frank for the past five years on the Oakdale Educational Foundation (Frank was president for two years), which has raised more than $200,000 to help our teachers and students. Frank is a hardworking, dedicated public servant and deserves to be re-elected. Frank is also adamantly opposed to any water sales to San Francisco.
