In response to "Supervisors object to weddings venue" (Sept. 29, Page B-1): Many people would love to have their wedding in a beautiful outdoor setting such as you have along River Road in Oakdale. The article said that they were being stopped because they were taking away agriculture property. Excuse me, but the housing boom is what has taken away our farmlands.
If it is lack of income, charge for a permit or have the property owners take out a business license. I'm sure they would gladly do either to be able to keep their business going.
We just attended a wedding at one of these lovely settings, and it added so much to the ceremony. Please give these people a chance to fulfill not only their dream, but also the dreams of many, many couples wishing to be wed in these beautiful settings.
