In the letter "Support county small businesses" (Oct. 2, Letters), the writer said Denise Seymour "brought back to life a former care home that needed a lot of repair." This statement is completely untrue. The care home was in excellent condition when Denise Seymour bought it.
The former owner ran one of the best care homes in the state with no deficiencies in the 19-plus years. The care was superb and, having eaten many meals there, I can testify the food was excellent. The home was exceptionally clean and, most important, the care given to the elderly was loving. If all care homes were run the way this one was, we would never have to worry about the elderly. It might be debatable whether Seymour should be allowed to operate, but to knock the former owner is unacceptable.
