On Tuesday, I found nothing on the front page about the terrorist attacks of six years ago. I am 17 and I clearly remember that day. Most consider that day to be a part of history but to me it is now. On Monday, The Bee posted a story suggesting how Sept. 11 tributes are overdone and comparing it to the attack on Pearl Harbor. The difference is Pearl Harbor was 66 years ago. Those who remember those attacks are upwards of 80 years old. In comparison, a 10-year-old who lost a parent on 9-11 is now 16. To them, it is still a very big deal.
We must all remember to honor those who died, whether it was an innocent person or a firefighter who tried to save someone. And most importantly, we must never forget.
Never miss a local story.
