I stand firm in my belief that the Salida Now initiative is going to be a very promising thing for Salida residents. Not only will it be great for Salida, it will also be great for the surrounding cities. I am glad the board of supervisors put it to the vote at their meeting instead of spending $400,000 of taxpayers’ dollars by placing it on the ballot. Might I remind citizens that we elected these county supervisors to vote on issues such as this so we don’t have to spend the extra money placing it on the ballot? I commend the supervisors for voting on what is best for the community, and what is a well thought out, well-planned initiative that will benefit the entire county.
