Have Jeff Denham and the rest of the California Republicans in Congress lost their minds? Or do campaign contributions from the NRA mean more to them than the safety of the people they represent. Sunday night, “60 Minutes” did a story on how the House of Representatives last month quietly passed a bill co-sponsored by 13 of the 14 Republicans from California to allow anyone with a concealed carry permit from any state to legally carry their guns in California. This would include in stores, theaters, churches, schools or just about anywhere else.
In many states the only requirement to get a concealed carry permit is to fill out a form and sign your name. Nearly every law enforcement agency in the country is fighting against this legislation. Would these same representatives vote to pass this bill if it allowed people with a concealed carry permit to bring guns into the Capitol Building? It’s time for people to stand against representatives whose votes can be purchased by a $12,800 campaign contribution from the NRA.
