Re “City using its heart to tackle homelessness” (Front page, Feb. 11): Homelessness in this area is a clear problem and I am pleased to read about this pilot program. I felt there was something important missing: access to Medicare and Jeff Denham’s vote to deny over 100,000 people from our district healthcare. Homeless people’s ability to get healthcare is critical for public safety and the well being of homeless people. If Denham had it his way, homeless people would not have access to Medicaid as they do right now. When talking about homelessness, we need to look at candidates challenging Denham, like Josh Harder, who are upfront and clear about their support and fight for healthcare for all. Harder will fight for healthcare for Central Valley residents.
