Sometimes when things look dreary and society loses its way, a positive thing can pop up unexpectedly! That is what happened to me recently. My husband and I had just gone through several negative experiences and we were heartsick. We had the flu for a full month; we were short-changed at a business; the fast food restaurant had given us the wrong food at the drive-through; a great looking steak, we paid good money for, turned out to be so tough it was almost inedible. And then, on the way to a funeral, someone cut us off on the freeway nearly causing us to wreck.
On Wednesday, while in the middle of making a rag quilt, my sewing machine quit. I called Modesto Vacuum and Sewing and took it in to be repaired. Gary Edwards made a minor repair and his wife gave me great advice on the perfect sewing settings. All this kindness and they refused to charge me a penny! Even Leslie, their employee, insisted on loading it for me. What a change from the negative experiences we had recently encountered. Faith in people can be restored!
