Re “The stories behind city’s auto theft capital status” (Front page, Sept. 19): I long have wondered if picturing those arrested for auto theft in The Bee did any good. Apparently not, judging by the increase by 1,023 thefts from 2014 to 2015. If such pictures are a deterrent, why not publish pictures of everybody who has bee arrested for any crime?
One solution for the county’s high auto-theft rate might be for people to park their cars in their garages. Of course, that would require them getting rid of all the junk that has accumulated in many garages leaving no room for their cars.
