I do not feel represented by my District 3 Trustee on the Yosemite Community College District Board. Abe Rojas has held this office for approximately 28 years; it’s time for a change.
Our Board needs someone who’s been in the trenches, dealt first-hand with board decisions and values the community that comprises our community college. We need Prof. Bill Holly! I’ve attended numerous board meetings, and I see Rojas doesn’t appear to have fully read or understand material he is tasked with reading as a board member; he rarely makes comments or asks questions, and often dozes or appears zoned out. When he does contribute, he usually rubber stamps whatever the chancellor proposes.
This rubber-stamp practice might be the reason Rojas recently voted to deny due process rights for students, part-time faculty and volunteers. This rubber-stamp practice might also be the reason Rojas did nothing when the chancellor and other administrators ordered the destruction of over 50,000 MJC library books. We can elect a trustee who has taught at Modesto Junior College for 20 years and has a heartfelt investment in YCCD. Join me in choosing change! Join me in voting for Bill Holly!
