As students at the University of California at Merced, we are compelled to plead the case for high-speed rail. Our generation will be paying for this project, and we are the ones who will be riding it. Our message: "I will ride."
I am writing to thank the Stanislaus County Office of Education and the citizens of our community for hosting our local Future City competition.
Every citizen 18 and older has the right to vote in America, yet many people don't take advantage of this right. In many countries, women are denied the right to vote, as are those of certain religions, races or economic position. These men and women would jump at the opportunity that so many Americans throw away.
