City's fight against crime needs stronger leadership

The overwhelming majority of men and women at the Modesto Police Department are hardworking professionals, motivated to serve our community. Most place a high value on apprehending criminals. The leadership's lack of focus on apprehension, acceptance of the status quo and a management style that emphasizes image over substance have all harmed the morale of those entrusted to protect our families.

What we learned from Diablo Grande: Zoslocki's Opinion

Diablo Grande is a new community developed off prime farm ground, away from existing traffic-congested roads in a more rural, quiet setting without crime. With two golf courses and miles of open space for a future hotel and conference center, it could have been a future template for start-up cities in California. One would think because of the many growth related problems solved by Diablo Grande, most everyone would support it.
