No new hats thrown in Riverbank council race

As Wednesday's final deadline passed, no additional candidates entered the race for the Riverbank City Council seat held by Jesse James White.

As Wednesday's final deadline passed, no additional candidates entered the race for the Riverbank City Council seat held by Jesse James White.

The filing period for his seat was extended last week after the embattled councilman chose not to seek a second term. White has been arrested twice in incidents involving drugs or alcohol since his election in 2008, and he survived two recall attempts.

Seven people, including incumbent Councilwoman Jeanine Tucker, are running for the two open council seats in Riverbank. No other candidates were reported in the cities of Hughson and Oakdale, where deadlines also had been extended after incumbents did not file.
