Cecil Hensley and Nick Bavaro are both running for the Modesto Irrigation District Division 1 director. Cecil has been around for 36 years, and anybody that has been involved that long becomes clouded in the issues. At 81, your body and mind are no longer fit for such an important job; to me, it takes a wise man to know when it's time to step aside.
Nick Bavaro has deep roots in the community. Born and raised on a farm and active with Future Farmers of America, he graduated from the University of the Pacific with a bachelor's degree in economics. Nick started his own business in Modesto that is still active today.
Nick has spent countless hours coaching youth baseball, and he has volunteered for community service. Nick is president of the Empire School Board and has been a positive influence.
The Bee questioned Nick's relationship with MID Director Mike Serpa. What is that about? Don't fool the public with unfounded accusations. Nick Bavaro goes home every night to be with his family, not Mike Serpa.
We need a younger, educated, dedicated, understanding, accomplished and experienced people to run the board directors; plain and simple, vote for Nick Bavaro.
