In "3 for area's irrigation districts" (Oct. 21, Page B-6), The Bee referred to "the real bogeyman." That is The Bee for its biased opinion on the OID election. Since when is it appropriate to take the word of the entity that plans to have the most financial gain? It is also unconscionable of The Bee to take the word of OID's general manager, who is no stranger to overstating the facts.
It is not just a claim that Frank Clark wants to sell water to San Francisco, but a fact. Read the board minutes of June 19.
OID needs to stop wasting millions of constituents' money on lawyers and consultants and use that money for the needed improvements in the district. If OID officials only used half of their efforts trying to make it easier for local farmers and ranchers to come into the system, we would have the best district in the area. OID certainly has the potential for growth and prosperity if directors like Clark don't sell us out to San Francisco.
