Suspect sought in theft of donation box from Turlock store

Police in Turlock are looking for a woman who stole $50 from a box set up at a local store to collect money for autism.

According to authorities, the woman entered the 7-11 at Tegner Road and Monte Vista Avenue at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. She made off with the donation box, which held roughly $50.

Police issued a surveillance photo of the woman, who is heavyset with dark hair. She was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. They also released a photo of her car, a white coupe.

Authorities ask anyone with information on the case to contact officer Gina Giovacchini at (209) 668-5550 extension 6746.
