Tenet Healthcare Corp. is working on the final details of its purchase of 209-bed Emanuel Medical Center.
The Dallas-based health care company had said it was shooting to complete the acquisition by March 31. Hospital spokeswoman Pennie Rorex released a statement Wednesday saying the timeline has been mutually extended.
“The leadership teams at Tenet and Emanuel Medical Center remain committed to concluding the transaction and are continuing to work through the process,” the statement said. “Completion of the transaction is subject to the parties’ satisfaction of the remaining closing conditions and regulatory approvals.”
Rorex said there was no estimate on when the transaction will be final.
Tenet announced in February 2013 it had reached a firm agreement to buy the nonprofit Turlock hospital on Delbon Avenue. The state attorney general gave approval in January, clearing the way for the parties to work on final details. Tenet owns Doctors Medical Center of Modesto and Doctors Hospital of Manteca.
