The late-winter storms have prompted the Turlock Irrigation District to postpone the start of water deliveries by a week.

They had been scheduled to begin March 27 but have been moved to April 3, the district announced Tuesday.

The season is scheduled to run to Oct. 8. TID and many other agencies are setting irrigation dates carefully to stretch a supply expected to be among the lowest on record. The Modesto Irrigation District, TID’s partner on the Tuolumne River, plans to start deliveries April 9.
