Help with changing a tire came at a high price for a Turlock 19-year-old, police said.

According to authorities, Larry Reynolds, 30, approached the victim at a service station in the 200 block of Golden State Boulevard at 1:54 a.m. Wednesday.

Reynolds offered to help the victim change his tire. As they finished the work, police said, Reynolds pushed the victim to the ground, stole his cell phone and ran away.

The victim called police and described the man who robbed him, but officers could not find him. At 3:36 a.m. Friday, an officer responding to a call found a man matching the description of the man in the 700 block of Golden State Boulevard.

Police called the victim to the scene, where he identified Reynolds as the one who attacked him and stole his phone. Police arrested Reynolds on a robbery charge and booked him into the Stanislaus County Jail.
