Teen rescued from Stanislaus River near Oakdale

A rescue crew saved a 16-year-old girl who had fallen out of her kayak late Saturday afternoon on the Stanislaus River near Oakdale.

The girl was kayaking with her parents when she spilled out of her boat south of the Orange Blossom Road Bridge.

Fire crews from Oakdale, Rural Oakdale and Stanislaus Consolidated responded about 5:50 p.m. Rescuers found the girl clinging to berry bushes in a fast current

She was rescued without incident and suffered no injuries.
