The Modesto City Schools board will hold a study session on district governance from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the staff development center, 425 Locust St. The training, facilitated by the California School Boards Association, will cover board and superintendent roles, responsibilities and governance practices.


The Stanislaus County Board of Education will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the county Office of Education boardroom, 1100 H St. It will be asked to seek an exemption from the six month, zero-dollars limit on compensation for six retired administrators it intends to employ on an interim basis starting in September. Trustees also will get information on the county office mobile app and discuss visits to the Great Valley Academy charter school. See the agenda at
