PRESCHOOL OPENINGS AT MJC

Modesto Junior College has openings available for preschoolers in the MJC Early Care and Education program on its west campus. Apply by Friday for the summer session for toddlers (24 to 36 months old), offered Monday through Thursday mornings, noon to 2 p.m. Cost is $260 for the summer semester. Me-Wuk Child Development Laboratory Preschool is accepting applications for preschoolers (2 to 5 years old) for the fall of 2104 and spring of 2015 semesters. The cost is $335 per semester. One parent or guardian from each family is required to successfully complete a six-hour parenting class through MJC Community Education for each semester the child is enrolled and volunteer twice in the classroom. The National Gardening Association, www.garden.org, has released a 2014 Gardening With Kids Digital Resource Catalog, an easy-to-use, one-stop-shopping resource for gardening supplies, classroom materials and curriculum at www.GardeningWithKids.org/2014AnnualCatalog. In other news: California schools can apply online to receive a La Victoria Garden Makeover on campus and get useful information on maintaining a successful school garden and links to resources about how to start a school garden at www.lavictoria.com/school-garden-makeover.
