STUDENT BOARD MEMBER APPLICATIONS
Modesto City Schools is accepting applications for the position of 2014-15 student representative to the Board of Education. The position is open to current sophomores and juniors in the district’s schools. To apply, submit an application by 5 p.m. April 14 to the Public Information Office, 426 Locust St., Modesto, CA 95351. Applications are available online at http://ow.ly/vlAD7. KIDS SPORTS CLINIC DAY-OF COST $15
The Johansen High School Education and Human Development Academy senior project will put on a sports clinic for children ages 5 to 12 from 9 a.m. to noon April 12 at the campus, 641 Norseman Drive, Modesto. Cost for early registration is $10; go to http://jhs4kids.com/school_ehda.asp. On-site registration is $15, an earlier notice had an incorrect cost. Make checks payable to the Children’s Crisis Center and mail to Johansen High, Attn: Nicole Evans, Modesto, CA 95357.
SUMMERVILLE HIGH BOARD TO MEET
The Summerville Union High School District board will meet at 1 p.m. today in the Summerville High School library, 17555 Tuolumne Road, Tuolumne. Trustees will vote on approving Biggs Cardoza as structural engineer for the concrete bleachers, expected to cost $30,000, according to agenda documents. The board also will consider geotechnical testing for the site, not to exceed $4,200, and a contract with Verde Design for $42,200. See the agenda at http://bit.ly/SummervilleHigh, click on agendas.
NEWMAN-CROWS LANDING TO MEET
The Newman-Crows Landing Unified School District board will meet in closed sessions at 7:30 a.m. today and 7:45 a.m. Saturday to interview superintendent candidates at the McConnell Adult Education Center, 1348 Patchett Drive, Newman. SOBER GRAD NIGHT YARD SALE
