TUOLUMNE BOARD TO STUDY POLICIES, ROLES

The Tuolumne County Board of Education will hold a joint workshop with the Sonora Area Foundation from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Tuolumne County Office of Education, 175 S. Fairview Lane, Sonora. At the workshop, trustees will discuss roles and responsibilities of a county board and board policies.

CONCERT CELEBRATES DAVIS DANCE PROGRAM

About 50 Davis High School dancers, joined onstage by Modesto Junior College and Davis alumni, will perform “Born to Be Wild!” at 7 p.m. March 13 and 14 at the Modesto High School auditorium, 18 H St. Cost is $6 at the door. A wide-ranging program will include Bollywood, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, salsa and contemporary styles of dance. All proceeds will benefit the Davis dance program.

AUTISM RISK FACTORS TOPIC OF MJC TALK

Modesto Area Partners in Science will present “Immune Activation in Autism” at 7:30 p.m. March 21 at the Modesto Junior College West Campus, Sierra Hall 132. Judy Van de Water of the UC Davis MIND Institute will discuss potential risk factors, such as the presence of antibodies in mothers that could be contributing to the incidence and severity of childhood autism. The program is free and parking on campus is free after 5 pm on Fridays. Early arrival is advised to ensure a seat.
