Modesto High’s Crimson Team and Hickman Charter took first place overall in the high school and junior high divisions.
They and six other teams will compete in the state competition on April 13 at Mission Oak High School in Tulare.
The other teams are from: Central Catholic, Enochs High, La Loma Junior High and Hart-Ransom Junior High, all of Modesto; Blaker-Kinser Junior High of Ceres, and Oakdale High.
The Science Olympiad consists of individual and team events in biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, problem solving and technology.
