TURLOCK UNIFIED BOARD TO MEET
The Turlock Unified School District board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Professional Development Center, 1100 Cahill Ave., Turlock. Trustees will discuss continuing to have teachers in their grade or subject groups provide lesson materials following a district review of available textbooks that found large gaps in coverage. The board will also be asked to approve an overall 5.2 percent retroactive raise for administrators and assistant superintendent contracts. SALIDA DISTRICT BOARD TO MEET

CERES SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION
High school junior girls from Ceres High School and Central Valley High School will take part in the Distinguished Young Women of Ceres program, hosted by Soroptimist International of Ceres, at 6 p.m. March 7 at the Ceres High small gym auditorium. Nine teens will compete for $3,000 in scholarships. Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 in advance at Ceres World Travel, Supermom’s and Meyer CPR & First Aid, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
STUDENTS HOST BUDGET MEETINGS
The Modesto City Schools Inter-High Council and LCAP Advisory Group student representatives will host two Local Control Accountability Plan meetings to get student and community feedback for the district’s budgeting priorities. Students will meet Feb. 25. The community meeting will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 12 at Downey High School, Room 1, 1000 Coffee Road, Modesto.
TURLOCK TO HOLD COMMUNITY FORUMS
The Turlock Unified School District will hold community forums to review the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan from 6 to 7 p.m. March 10 at the Wakefield Elementary School cafeteria, 400 South Ave., and from 6 to 7 p.m. March 12 in the Turlock Junior High School cafeteria, 3951 N. Walnut Road. LCAP is designed to give parents and community members a voice in school spending priorities.
BIG VALLEY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL VISITORS DAY
Big Valley Christian School will hold Visitors Day and Open House from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the campus, 4040 Tully Road, Modesto. Classes in preschool through high school will be open for parents to observe in action, and they can tour the campus.
