Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left at least one man injured Saturday morning.

Two men, 21 and 22, were sitting outside a home in the 500 block of Comstock Court when the incident occurred at 2:07 a.m., Modesto Police spokeswoman Heather Graves said. The neighborhood is located south of Kansas Avenue between Carpenter Road and Emerald Avenue.

“They saw some vehicles pulling into the neighborhood,” Graves said. One of the cars pulled up and the men saw passengers in the front and back aiming guns at them before they started firing.

The 21-year-old was hit in the elbow; as of Monday morning, police had not located the 22-year-old and did not know if he was hit.

No suspects had been identified, Graves said. The suspects’ car was described as a black four-door Honda.

It’s likely the incident was gang-related, Graves said. “The victim is an active gang member.”
