California Highway Patrol officers in Mi-Wuk Village responding to a report of woman having been hit by a car in a campground arrested both the driver and the woman Thursday.
It turned out that both were drunk and the woman was not hit but rather fell trying to get into the car after she and the male driver were told to leave the Fraser Flat Campground, said officer Scott Taylor.
He didn’t know exactly why the Bay Area couple were asked to leave but said their inebriation played a role.
The driver, Ashley Sanderson, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The woman, whose name was not available, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public. She suffered cuts and bruises from her fall.
