Four arrested for driving impaired at DUI checkpoint in Modesto

Modesto Police arrested four people at a DUI checkpoint Friday night.

Four people were arrested for driving impaired at a DUI checkpoint Friday night.

The checkpoint was held from 9:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. at Yosemite Boulevard and Groveland Street in downtown Modesto.

Modesto police screened 580 vehicles and arrested three drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and one driver suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.

One person was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

Twenty-two drivers were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle without a license, and four more were cited for other vehicle code violations.
